Pendant or Brooch: Vintage Pre-Columbian Tolima "flyer" Tribal Breastplate Brass , anthropo-zoomorphic figure on chain.

Pre-Columbian Tolima Breastplate in the style of 1000 BC–800 AD Central Colombia.

These, often called Tolima "flyers" or anthropo-zoomorphic figures, show stylized, symmetrical, human-like bodies with animalistic (jaguar, bird, or crocodile) features, crafted using lost-wax casting and hammered techniques to represent spiritual, Shamanic power.  They served to connect the wearer to supernatural, animal-like strengths, such as the predatory nature of a jaguar or the flying ability of a bird.

These items were likely worn by caciques (chiefs) or shamans in rituals, symbolizing cosmic vision and Shamanic transformation. Worn as part of elite costume during ceremonies to signify authority. They were often discovered in tombs in the Central Mountain Range (Quindío and Tolima regions).

Brooch or Pendant and chain show signs of vintage wear and tarnish.  We have not polished them. The chain is not original to the pendant.
